Malaysia Passport

Introduction
 

Malaysian Passport is a valid travel document issued by the Malaysian Government for the purpose of traveling abroad. Malaysia Passport is the property of The Government of Malaysia and it may be withdrawn at any time if the Immigration Department is satisfied that the passport is used contravene against the Passport Act 1966. The holder is fully responsible for the security of the Passport.

Malaysian Passport can be apply and renew in any of Immigration Offices in Malaysia and Malaysian Representative Offices if you're in overseas. Validity of Malaysian Passport is five (5) years or two (2) years from the date of issued. Renewal of Malaysian Passport for the new passport that has a validity of 6 months or less, the new one will have 5 or 2 years validity plus maximum 6 months remaining validity in the old passport.

The fees for the Malaysian Passport differ according to the pages and validity of the Passport. The price from RM100.00 for 48 Pages (Valid for 2 years) to RM600.00 for 64 pages (Valid for 5 years). Children below 12 years old and student below 21 years old with proof to study abroad on the day submission entitled to half price from normal price.

 
 


The Immigration Department is an agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs, which provides services to Malaysian Citizens, Permanent Residents and Foreign Visitors.

The functions of the department are as follows:-

1. Issuing of passports and travel documents to Malaysian Citizens and Permanent Resident.
2. Issuing of visas, pass and permits to Foreign Visitors entering Malaysia.
3. Administering and controlling the entry and exit of people at authorized entry points.
4. Enforcing the Immigration Act 1959/63, Immigration Regulations 1963 and Passport Act 1966.
