High Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Malaysia was among the first Muslim nations to recognize the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, leading to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Bangladesh in the year 1972.

The High Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka was opened in November 1972 with H.E. Ali bin Abdullah as the first High Commissioner.

Malaysian in Bangladesh may renew their passports through the High Commission. Applicants are advised to submit their applicants well ahead of time e.g. 6 months before the passport expires.

Applicants are advised to submit their applicants well ahead of time (e.g. 6 months before the passport expires or when the passport has 3 pages left) since the renewal also takes some time to be processed.

 
 

Requirements for passport renewal are as follows:

• An application form (obtainable from the High Commission);
• 2 recent coloured photos (3.5 x 5cm );
• Current passport;
• Identity card;
• Birth certificate (if any);
• Passport fee of RM300.00 for 32-page passport or RM600.00 for 64-page passport (payable in equivalent amount in local currency); and
• For applicants below 12 years old and overseas students below 21 years old, passport fee is RM150.00.

APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE

Kindly submit the following documents:-

Application form IM.42C
1 photocopy of Birth Certificate (not applicable if you have MyKad)
1 photocopy of Identity Card (back & front)
1 photocopy of Citizenship Certificate (if applicable)
1 photocopy of Passport (page 1, 2, 3 & Bangladesh Visa)**
2 recent passport sized photographs (blue background)
1 photocopy of Bangladesh visa
Children (Under 18) please include:

   i. 1 photocopy of their Birth Certificate
   ii. 1 photocopy of Parent’s Identity Card (back & front)
   iii. 1 photocopy of Parent’s Passport (page 1, 2, 3)
   iv. 1 photocopy of Parent’s Malaysian Marriage Certificate

1 photocopy of airline ticket / itinerary

REPORT OF LOSS OF MALAYSIA PASSPORT

Kindly submit the following documents:-

Form IM42C – Surat Akuan (available at office)
Passport Application form IM.42-Pin 1/97 (available at office)
Original Police Report + 2 photocopies
2 photocopies of birth certificate
2 photocopies of Identity Card (front + back)
2 photocopies of Bangladesh Visa
2 photocopies of Citizenship Certificate (if applicable)
2 photocopies of passport (if any)
2 photocopies of Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
Two (2) recent passport-size photographs (blue background)
Two (2) photocopies of Letter of Confirmation from Employer/University/School that you are presently working/studying.
For Permanent Residents in Bangladesh - Please obtain a “Certificate of Evidence of Residence status” from the Bangladesh Immigration Department (2 copies)
For Student – Please obtain a letter from the nearest Bangladesh Immigration Department to confirm your status as an overseas student in Bangladesh – (COE) (2 copies)
2 copies + original Airline Ticket if travelling back to Malaysia
